"Joseki are learned, so one can forget them", so a Go proverb says. Herewith is accentuated that in the study of Joseki it is not about learning by heart all succesion of moves but more about understanding the moves. Kim Sung-Rae therefor introduces in his book, over 12 chapters, new Joseki and tries to analyse them in detail and so tries to bring closer to the reader the ideas behind each move. For that matter the book is divided in three parts: In the first part Joseki are examined, in the second part Joseki in relation to the Fuseki and in the third part new Fuseki ideas are shown.
As in his first book
Korean Style of Baduk and the
first volume of these series the author aims especially at one digit Kyu and Dan players.
